Abstract

In this research paper, we have studied the safety and rights of animals in the light of Quranic verses. The animals are two types: domestic and wild animals. Domestic animals live in the houses and human being bring up and provide them necessary food and water while wild animals live in the jungle and they are dangerous for the life of human being. There are many Quranic verses in which it has been stated how to deal with these two types of animals. Once a camel was disappeared and its owner was worried and came to the Holy Prophet who stated that you need not be worried about it because it is powerful animal, it can drink water and eat leaves from tree until you can find it. This means that human should not be worried about powerful animals. Similarly, weak animals like sparrow needs special attention of human being and its ruthless killing has been prohibited. In Quranic verses the Muslim has been ordered to slaughter domestic animal gently in case need and their slaughter without need is prohibited. In short, Islam has laid down certain principles for safety of animals because the survival of rare animals is necessary for human being and the world.
