Historical Background of Prisons and System of Prisons in Pakistan

The objective of this research paper is to analyze the existing system of prisons in Pakistan in the light of historical perspective. The history reveals the fact that prisons were existing in different forms in different periods. There are also different types of prisons in Pakistan according to nature of crimes and terms of punishments. We suggest that proper arrangements may be made for moral and religious coaching of prisoners to change their minds and criminal habits.
